California Health and Human Services award recognizes hospitals meeting national goal

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —Sutter Health hospitals, which have among the lowest cesarean section (C-section) rates in California, were recognized by the California Health and Human Services Department (CHHS) for reducing cesarean births for first-time moms with low-risk pregnancies. SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Three Sutter Health hospital campuses have earned five stars—the highest ranking possible—as part

of The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Quality Star Rating for December 2017: Sutter Health’s California Pacific Medical Center, Pacific campus in San Francisco, Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame and Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz. Only 9 percent of the 3,692 hospitals evaluated across the nation received a five-star rating.

Sutter Health Leaders Recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review

Becker’s Hospital Review this week recognized Sarah Krevans, president and CEO of Sutter Health, in its 2017 ‘183 Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know’ list. According to the publication, the CEOs recognized on the list lead some of the most successful nonprofit healthcare organizations in the country.

In addition, Becker’s Hospital Review recognized Sarah Krevans, Anne Platt, CEO of Sutter Amador Hospital and Elizabeth Vilardo, M.D., CEO of Medical Foundations of Sutter Health Bay Area to its annual list of ‘130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.’ The publication notes the leaders on the list are executives from across the nation. From multi-state health systems to 25-bed critical access hospitals, the leaders represented face the challenges of running a healthcare organization head-on.
