In recognition of her 39 years of volunteer service, City of San Mateo Mayor Diane Papan presented a proclamation to Duckworth at a birthday celebration on Jan. 22. Sutter Care at Home CEO Jan Potts presented a letter of appreciation and thanked Duckworth for her nearly four decades of volunteer service.

Duckworth began her volunteer service with California Pacific Medical Center in 1980, continuing at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in 2000, and then with Sutter Care at Home in 2005 where she currently serves.

At age 104, Duckworth has no intention of slowing down and continues to volunteer her time in support of Sutter Care at Home Hospice in San Mateo. The Jan. 22 event was an opportunity to honor Duckworth and thank her for her commitment and dedication to her community.

“Dolores Duckworth’s example of compassion and generosity in her nearly four decades of service as a volunteer is an inspiration to all of us at Sutter,” said Sarah Krevans, CEO of Sutter Health. “We are so grateful for her gifts of time and talent to the mission of Sutter Care at Home, and to our patients and families.”
