Sutter Health Hospital Campuses Earn 2016 Top Hospital Distinction
The Leapfrog Group® named two Sutter Health hospital campuses to its annual list of Top Hospitals. The elite distinction honors hospitals that demonstrate excellence in safety and quality through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. The Leapfrog Group awards the Top Hospital recognition to less than three percent of all eligible hospitals.
Sutter Health hospital campuses named as Top Hospitals in 2016 include:
- California Pacific Medical Center, California campus in San Francisco
- Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz
“Our doctors and hospitals partner together to coordinate care, which absolutely contributes to improved patient outcomes,” said Stephen Lockhart, M.D., chief medical officer for Sutter Health. “Our integrated approach also plays a big part in enhancing the patient experience and controlling costs—all elements that are important to those who place their trust in our care. We take that responsibility very seriously and are proud to continue innovating on their behalf.”
The selection of Top Hospitals is based on the results of the 2016 Leapfrog Hospital Survey. Performance across many areas of hospital care is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including infection rates, maternity care and a hospital’s ability to prevent medication errors. The rigorous standards are defined in each year’s Top Hospital Methodology. To see the complete list of 2016 Top Hospitals, visit www.leapfroggroup.org/tophospitals.
