President and CEO Chairs AHA’s Constituency Section for Health Care Systems Governing Council

Pat Fry, Sutter Health President and CEOPatrick E. Fry, president and CEO of Sutter Health, is the 2015 chairman of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) constituency section for Health Care Systems Governing Council. The council actively advises AHA during decision-making phases on advocacy positions, public policy issues and member service strategies. Fry’s term is for one year.

With a career spanning more than three decades with Sutter Health and its not-for-profit network of hospitals and physician organizations, Fry assumed the position of Sutter’s president and CEO in June 2005. He joined the organization in 1982 as an administrative resident at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento, later taking on leadership roles at local affiliate and regional levels, including regional president for affiliates in the Greater Sacramento Region, president of eastern operations throughout Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley and, in 1999, leading Sutter Health’s Western Division in the San Francisco Bay Area. From 2000-2005, Fry served as chief operating officer and executive vice president.

The AHA is a not-for-profit association of health care provider organizations and individuals that are committed to the improvement of health in their communities. The AHA is the national advocate for its members, which include nearly 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks and other providers of care.
