As part of a broader commitment to support military personnel and their families, Sutter Health donated a total of $50,000 to Disabled American Veterans Department of California (DAV) and the Fisher House Foundation, two military-support organizations dedicated to improving the lives of service men and women in Northern California.

“Across Sutter Health, we proudly employ 1,297 veterans and reservists. We gratefully benefit from their skills, experience and the many daily contributions they make at work and in our communities,” said Pat Fry, president and CEO of Sutter Health. “Our gratitude extends to the millions of military men and women nationwide who serve our country and make us proud.”

Fry added, “We strongly believe in supporting our veterans by recruiting military members and by partnering with organizations that help veterans and their families.”

About the Donations

Disabled American Veterans Department of California gives support and assistance to veterans and their families. Our $25,000 donation will support expansion of DAV’s transportation services to Northern California veterans.

The Fisher House Foundation provides lodging for the families of military members undergoing hospital treatment for a combat injury, illness or disease. Our $25,000 donation will help four families stay for free for one year at one of the Fisher House facilities in Sacramento, Palo Alto or Hawaii. This donation will also support the purchase of vital supplies such as food and personal care items for families staying in the facilities.

Sutter’s Ongoing Commitment to Veterans
Sutter Health makes it a priority to increase military hires each year. It partners with the Employment Development Department to promote jobs for military members seeking employment. Sutter’s military recruitment efforts also include participation in military career fairs and posting to online military job boards.
