Sutter Health Donates $255,000 to Help Feed Those in Need This Holiday Season

Sutter Health Sacramento Sierra Region employees volunteer their time at a local food bank. Sutter Health announced today a quarter-million-dollar donation to 29 food banks across Northern California and Hawaii. The donation by the not-for-profit health system enables local food banks to serve more than 1 million nutritious meals to those in need this winter.

“Access to healthy food is essential to living a healthy life,” said Pat Fry, president and CEO of Sutter Health. “By partnering with food banks across Northern California, we help families get the nutrition they need.”

Sutter Health’s investment to community food banks over the past five years exceeds $1.2 million. On average, every dollar donated translates to more than four meals provided by the food banks.

Fry added, “I’m honored to work with more than 50,000, doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers who, every day, provide hope and healing to patients, their families and community members. This donation is made on their behalf.”

Sutter’s Commitment as a Great Neighbor

As a not-for-profit organization, Sutter Health believes in giving back.
