Sutter Hospitals Recognized for Quality Care

Grade "A"Sutter Health hospitals earned high marks in medical care quality and patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, a prestigious national patient safety organization. According to the scores, 76 percent of Sutter’s hospitals received a grade of “A” compared to 32 percent nationally.

“These scores recognize the dedication and collaboration of our network’s doctors, nurses, clinicians and employees to provide patients with access to the safest, highest quality care,” said Gordon Hunt, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical officer for Sutter Health. “Our partnerships with each other mean our patients receive the excellent medical care they deserve, leading to better treatment results and a better quality of life.”

More than 2,500 hospitals nationwide participate in the survey. Leapfrog calculates its letter grades from 28 measures of publicly available safety data, including rates of preventable medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
